Better than I hoped

I needed a portable grill with specific dimensions to fit in a defined storage location in my travel trailer. I contacted BBQguys and Alyssa treated me like I was a celebrity and she was my personal shopping assistant. The customer service from Alyssa makes me want to buy everything bbg related from BBQguys. The grill arrived very quickly and was fully assembled in its packaging. In about 1 minute it was unpackaged, and I ran it on high to burn off the new bbg smell. I checked the temp and it maxed out my 600 degree thermometer. After burn off, I wiped it down and threw on two burgers. The temperature control was amazing for such a small grill. The temperature on low was lower than I would cook. There were no major hotspots of perceived variation in temperature around the grill. I also concluded I could get 6 to 8 burgers cooking at the same time depending on the size of the patty. That's pretty impressive for the grill's size. The grate cleaned up easily. It was difficult to wipe beneath the burner to the grills bottom. I ended up removing the burner to clean beneath it. Not an ideal solution especially out camping. I will experiment with tin foil in the future to figure out easier clean up. The drip tray is nice but faces the wrong direction. As is, you have to reach around the back of the grill potentially burning yourself to remove it. The grill folds down to a great suitcase design being carried by the front handle. This make the drip tray subject to gravity and falling out. Simply turning it around 180degrees solves both problems. Shopping at BBQguys and using the Cuisinart Petit Grill were both better than I had hoped.

Perfect size

I was looking for the perfect size propane grill to take in my travel trailer. This was not an easy buy as I looked for several months and actually returned two others. I read the reviews and was a little timid, but I got this for a good price and tried it out. I hooked up the propane and purged the line. It sparked right up and no issues. I had the meal cooked in no time and then a quick clean. One thing do not think the dish washer will clean the grill, you need to hand clean it, as I did after I took it out of the dishwasher. The inside of the grill is also easy to clean, and I keep the drip pan inside the grill as it does have a tendency to fall out, only complaint. It is packed in my trailer until spring, for my first camping trip

I have just now open the box. I have not had a chance to use it yet. But I am so excited to be able to grill very soon.

Size Doesn't Matter

I have owned way too many small propane grills that at best lasted two summers, and seldom cooked food evenly. This grill is not only top of the line quality, but cooks food perfectly! It's easy to start with a turn of the knob, and is exactly as advertised. The grate is solidly made and there's no concern of losing food through the open slits on it. This grill will cook a surprising amount of food, so don't worry about it's size! This is one of my best purchases ever and cooking is FUN!

Great grill for camping

I was given this product for free in exchange of an honest review. It was very simple to get all setup, and it had ample cooking space for our family of 4. I can absolutely see us using this for family camping trips as it's super portable, quick to fire up (no waiting for charcoal to get hot, just turn on the propane and fire it up), and easy to wipe down! It would be perfect for at home for those who live in apartments or homes without convenient place to leave a larger grill--or even if you'd rather not drag it out and would like a quicker way to make a meal like after a long day at work. I love the stainless appearance making it look so modern and matching our own home appliances. Would absolutely recommend to purchase!

Great for out and about use!!

UNPACKING AND ASSEMBLY The assembly experience for this is refreshingly simple. It is as easy as pulling it out of the box, removing the packing material and rotating the legs down into a locking position. Done! Nothing is ever this easy out of the box. In this case it is. I could not have been happier about that. They got this right. The instructions are pretty straightforward and easy to read. It took me about two minutes to read through them and feel ready to grill. The only thing I could not figure out is the purpose of a piece on the back of the grill. There is a thin metal strip with a chain on the back. I could not determine what that was for either by examination or through looking at the instructions. I was able to grill just fine without that knowledge so no harm no foul. GAS CANISTER AND CONNECTION I used a standard Coleman 16.4 ounce gas canister as my fuel source. It screwed in easily in the back but it is close enough to the back of the grill that it will rub the edge an tear the paper on the canister as you rotate it. Not a big deal but it creates the perception of being a minor design flaw. Be sure to remove the gas canister outside. After turning the grill off after cooking, there is still pressurized gas in the line. That gas has nowhere to go until you remove the canister. Since there is no valve on the canister, you can't turn off the gas at the container and then bleed the remaining gas off through the grill. I brought the grill in after using it for the first time because it was getting dark and rain was looming. I removed the canister indoors and that small amount of gas whooshed out. I could smell gas for about a minute afterwards but it was a small amount. Not necessarily a significant hazard but it should be avoided nonetheless. I did not go back to the instructions to see if it says specifically not to do this. I imagine it probably does. I chalk this up to my improper use rather than a flaw in the unit. COOKING AND CLEANUP For this review I wanted to focus on what I will definitely be using this grill most for. Cooking in the park for the family...hot dogs and burgers. Hot dogs were a good choice because that would allow me to place them in various spots to determine hot spots easily. If you have had any decent experience grilling hot dogs, you know that hot dogs rolling around on the grill is a real pain. The way this grill is designed, the dogs would stay in place easily and I could make sure I evenly cooked all around the dog. Small things, I know, but I really appreciated that and it is small things like that, that add up to an overall great experience. Like any gas grill, the middle is much hotter than the edges. There also is more metal in the middle of the grate so you get more contact and more direct sear in that area as well. For hot dogs and burgers, this is not an issue. I was able to manage the placement so that everything cooked easily and fairly evenly. A larger piece of meat that took up space in the different heat zones would be more of a challenge and require more management to cook evenly but I don't really feel like that is what this grill was designed for anyway. The grill heats up quickly and gets hot enough to achieve a sear if needed. I liked that! The heat is localized enough where you can flip your meat with shorter utensils and not get your hand roasted. Afterwards, I let the grill run for a minute with nothing on it to burn away the fat. A quick brush removed that remaining material. The grill was completely cool by the time we finished eating so I was able to pack it up quickly without having to wait forever. I like that a lot as well. I don't like to be stuck waiting around for a grill to cool off. The lid locks so I was able to pick it up by the handle, fold the legs in and carry it away easy as pie since it is so light. SUMMARY I have had other grills in the past but this one is by far my favorite. Light. Easy to use, carry and store. Gets hot fast and cooks well. Perfect for grilling in the park or a quick meal at home. I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a small, portable grill.

Question:
How do you light it?

Answer:
Hi, Vigie. Ignition is built into turning the knob: as you turn it there will be a click and a spark is generated by that motion. This link should take you to the grill's manual with a little more information on the ignition process. www.cuisinart.com/globalassets/catalog/outdoor-grilling/petite-gourmet-portable-tabletop-gas-grill/8-3-11_cgg-180t_manual_new-warning-30.pdf

When will my item arrive?

Once shipped, items usually arrive within 3-5 business days. While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day.

  • Most freight products ship on a pallet
  • Some carriers will call to schedule a delivery window, while others will deliver the shipment to a reasonably accessible location closest to your residence (their goal is to deliver as near a garage door as they can).
  • We’ll specify which process you can expect in your shipping confirmation email.

For carriers that schedule delivery appointments:

Carriers that schedule delivery appointments require you to be home for delivery and provide your signature. The delivery is made with a semi-truck with lift gate services, and the shipment is dropped off at the curb. If you authorize the shipping company to leave the delivery without a signature, BBQGuys can’t be held responsible for damages that occur during delivery. As complicated as this process may seem, we’ve only scratched the surface here — please review our detailed guide to freight delivery so there are no surprises when a freight shipment heads your way.

For carriers that deliver without an appointment:

Carriers that deliver without an appointment don’t require you to be home or set up a delivery window, and you aren’t required to sign for the pallet(s). Instead of scheduling an appointment, arranging your schedule to be home for the delivery, and signing to confirm receipt, you can sit back and let your items come to you. If you’re home at the time of the drop-off, you can request the driver place your delivery in the garage; if you’re out of the house, the driver will leave it near the garage or doorstep.
